Somebody wants to be a mommy.

Not a great photo, and Jak chews the bars, but that’s Koi Monkey’s nest.

My Monkey has lived with me for over 7 years, and has been with Jak ever since she came home. This is their first clutch of eggs.
Imagine my surprise. I knew it was a possibility with three females, but it’s never happened until this week. Now, I’m worried about her calcium levels and can’t get her to take to a cuttle bone. She’s eating Harrison’s Lifetime Fine pellets, Fluker’s Freeze Dried Mealworms, Brown’s Tropical Carnival, and Nutriberries. It was good enough to get her to produce three eggs. I have a clutch of dummy eggs arriving next week.

The happy couple. The Cinnamon in the front is our little layer.
