I chose the title to be a bit of a pain in the butt. That is where I am at.

A pain in the butt, or the hips and spine rather. When I gave up guinea pig’n my friends didn’t believe I wouldn’t bring another one home. It’s been nearly two years, and while I miss it, the timing could not have been better. I am 38 years old and have been diagnosed with osteoarthritis. It’s mainly effecting my L vertebrae and then screwing with all the muscles around it. I do my physical therapy intake on Tuesday. I could not possibly commit another five years to a squad of wheeking vegans.

Well, what has Dr B given me for the first month?
Meloxicam. During the first few days I could sympathize with my prior piggies on why they would sit there in the dumb for a few hours after a dose. It made those shifts at work every interesting.

Nothing is getting easier on the meloxicam because I am forbidden to take any acetaminophen, aspirin, or ibuprofen. One muscle area over my right hip is not behaving.

There you have it: Meloxicam and Guinea Pigs
